Will the stock turbo shield fit the RJC 3'' downpipe without any cutting like TA's?

All down pipes except the Kirbans style that uses the stock elbow, you will have to cut the shield.I have a Kirbans with elbow and cut out in near new condition on the other Toronto board if interested;)

The TA pipe is very, very nice. It drops right in, doesnt hit anything; and your turbo shield will fit without being cut. I like my THDP but may switch when I have the engine out if I have the cash.

Confusion sets in

I may be wrong but the T/A pipe will not fit without cutting the cover.:eek:I think the reply you quoted means the cover will still go on it will just need to be cut:wink:You can get a template and cut the cover no problem or put the Kirbans pipe on.If you want to borrow my cover as a template I do go to Barrie once in a while:biggrin:

The turbo shield WILL FIT without being cut when using a T/A Performance downpipe. Ive had several of them in and out and not once did the shield hit the pipe. It fits like a glove trust me. Ive seen others from other places (no names) not fit the first time. The TA did. Very very high quality piece, even the cutout is nice.

I will be going to one if I can when I do my next build. For now my THDP will suffice.

ta performance. they have a bung for a wideband and the wastegate arm is flawless

I had issues with the wastegate arm on one TA pipe..Pipe was on and off several times trying to keep the puck from sticking. Had two brand new TA pipes sitting there. One had issues, the other didn't.

Thanks Kevin, I can do the cutout no probs......was just curious if no cutting was required on the RJC....which I was planning on. I highly doubt it, judging by some pics I see.

I have a Cottons DP, but it's external

If I was going to go sleeper and internal wastegate I would go RJC. Which car is this for Kev?

Kev you know anyone local that ceramic coats for a decent price?

Brandon!

Not sure how local Scottsville, NY is to you but Swain Tech Coatings for engine piston coatings, race engine coatings, ceramic header coating, carbide metal coatings, thermal spray plasma coating, metalizing closures, spray welding did mine. One of the best coatings you will get. It does have a rough whitish (but paintable) finish to it, so it is not best for show cars.

Oh, and I have the Mease DP. It is a work of art, but my mechanic said that it was a little bit of effort to align properly.
