Best muffler, for that wonderful whisle??

What do you guys think? What muffler has the best turbo whistle?? I have Hookers now, but when you get on it it sounds like an open dump. They don't produce that nice turbo tune. How are the 2 chamber Flowmasters?? Thanks for the input.

I have aerochambers and my turbo sounds nice through them. I think the DP has some to do with it also.

I do have a 3' THDP, My Muffs sound ok But I know there is a better sounding Muff out there.. Keep your opions coming!

The atr pit bulls are nice I think a lot of guys use the race magnums, they sound pretty good from what I remember.

the whistle was almost non existant when i had flowmaster 2 chambers. if you want to hear some serious whistle just get rid of any and all mufflers. i ran this way (3" single shot without cat or muffler) for around a year before i decided it was too loud, sure did whistle like crazy tho.

I like the way my Pitt bulls sound. I could hear the whistle even more when I gutted the cat.

I've got dual glasspacks (yeah, glasspacks ) and they aren't all that loud, but they got rid of any turbo whistle even with the THDP. But, with the dump cap spaced away from the pipe about 1/8" with washers I still get the whistle and it's still not too loud. I'd like to run dual 2.5" pipes all the way back without mufflers.....

my open dump pipe gives a nice whistle throught my stock exhaust you cant hear anything.

Nick ,the pipe from the test pipe/dump to the mufflers is from Hooker ,same with the tail pipes..The mufflers on that sweet GN are the SS Ultra Flows.HTH

Just run no muffler! You get all the turbo you want then and it stays pretty quiet on the inside.

I've been running straight 2 3/4" pipes from the cat back for over a year, and everyone loves the sound!!! Pipes come out behind the wheel like the stockers, but when standing behind the car it sounds like a modded V8!!! Try it you'll LOVE it........KB

I have been running a straight dump for the last 2 weeks until I get my new exhaust installed tonight. Runs great with the straight dump, but it's loud and it sounds like I am getting ready to take off everytime I hit it hard. You should see people running for cover when I drive by. It's funny as hell and I haven't got pulled over yet.

SS THDP 2.5 Hooker & ATR Pitbulls....... my car sounds like a Peterbuilt. Just minor accel creates the whrissssssssssshhh! Deep throaty sound at idle.

I have a 3in. downpipe and a 3in. tube going thru my cat to thrush cvx muffs and 2 -3/4in. dual exhaust and it whistles when that TE 60 gets rollin. It rumbles a little at idle but not too loud. I like it. Tarey D.

had a 2.25" non mandrel exhaust on with no muffs and a gutted cat, not loud at all, no one could tell what was under the hood until i got on it and you could hear a little whistle.

for the past year ive had an ATR 2.5" dp (this is a hotair so no 3" dp), and a 2.5" mandrel small turn down on the end of it pointing towards the curb..

honestly i dont know what my car sounds like on the inside with mufflers anymore.. im so used to open exhaust.

of course its loud, all you hear is spooling.

get on it "whiiiIIIIIRRRRR" and you let off the gas "WHHHIIRRRRrrrrrr"

I've always run a test pipe, but this afternoon I installed a dump and took my car for a cruise with the exhaust opened up. Oh I got plenty of whistle alright, or at least before my headache and the ringing in my ears kicked in!!! Maybe I'm getting to be a wimp, but after driving around for a half hour with that exhaust uncapped it wasn't too much fun anymore. I don't know how the guys with the old V8 muscle can stand it!!!

Oh don't worry, give it a week or so, and it won't be so loud anymore.... or maybe my hearing is going because of it!

Run a cutout on the end of your downpipe. I had a cam, ported heads, 3"DP and that sounded awesome when open.
