ANS performance, owner is Pete Barton. He's done about a zillion of these motors, including mine.

ANS did mine. i highly recommend pete.
Fast Times also builds very good motors.

Where is Fast Times Located

Where is fast times located? I spoke to ANS about an engine even with the parts i was supplying it still came to about 3500 (which really meant 4000) seemed a little bit pricey to me.
Call Book Racing Enterprises in Frankfort, they do good work.

Thanks Turbobuick.com

DO NOT GO TO BOOK RACING!!!!

Talk to "TurboTTypeWE4" about his experiances with Book Racing.

What parts were you supplying? You get what you pay for, and my motor was right in that price range as well. I doubt you can get much cheaper, and I would want to know where they cut the corners to lower the price. Saving $500 now might cost way more down the road. Pete stuck to the price he gave me, and cut me a killer deal on a roller cam as well. I would spend the extra money to go with a trusted builder. You gots to pay to play!

said you wanted to go low 10's, What do you think it would cost? I had at least $3,000 in parts alone, And I brought them to builder!

Wrong guy dude. The guy who started this thread wants to go low 10's, not this guy.

Yes I agree

Yeah, you are right when you say pay to play......I was a newbie on the board when I called and asked pete about a price quote. At the time I thought (from my own personal opinion) that the price he quoted me was a bit pricey.

I (personally) have heard nothing but good things about ANS performance, that they do good work, they are expedient in their service. And then I have heard (albeit only one) where someone complained that it took a while to get their engine done.

As far as book racing is concerned, I (personally) liked the guy saw an example of his work and had an overall good feeling about him.

As far as his reputation is concerned, I only know what I see. But it is up to whomever is getting the engine built.
Don't annihilate me here guys, just expressing my opinion the same as anyone would or even trying to help someone who needs and calls for it.

Maybe the guy who wants to go ten seconds doesn't have a budget, and probably when trying to go ten secs doesn't really need a budget either. Which is a good thing.

However, I do, and I need "more bang for my buck" and ANS at the time seemed a bit pricey. But once again that is my own personal opinion.

Hope this helps, if you want proven performance, go with ANS.

BTW I am still searching for that engine builder.

:D
Thanks

fast times is in morton grove, IL. i have their phone number some where... they do great work but sometimes takes a long time to get it done... ive also heard lots of good things bout pete. id go with either pete or fast times... good luck!

ANS all the way. I have been doing alot of research for my Stage motor build up and I am going with ANS, Pete will stand behind his work.Remember there are plenty of other shops with lot of motor building experience but not Buick motors, they are built differently than the Chevy's and others.Stick with someone that specializes in Buicks and Pete has been playing with them since the 80's. You will also get the right parts and better price for you build up.

Good luck
Prasad
