A good complete shift kit.
A coulple vendors here sell nice ones. CK and PTS.

IMO, a good shift improver can change the personality of a transmission. I like the kit I got from CK, highly recomend.......

Ok, you have a 66 turbo and ported heads and all you are doing is a basic build with a shift kit??

You are looking at a possible forward drum failure which will cost more money in the end by not addressing it while the trans is out.

Don't skimp on the trans, you have $$ in other areas of your vehicle and we all know that the 200 will take a dump around the low 11 and high 10 area if you don't start hardening things up in there.

Do you have a hardened stator at least??

A trans brake isn't a helper of life of your tranny but a detonator for things to blow up. Get your tranny in good shape with better parts before even contemplating a Trans Brake. Anyone agree?
Let's see I'll throw full power @22psi at my car at my launch and....wait to see what happens? IMO
Get a cooler Number one, if its been run for years on a stock, shift kit, at the same time check the bands if you have a little money while its out. Upgrade with what you can. Thats better you not being able to drive it because you almost had a good run but a great Launch. Use the best oil. and a quality shop:biggrin:

With the TRs, trying to pick just one upgrade ain't going to do it. That strategy will end up costing you more.

Do it right!

thanks guys i added a hardened stator and ordered a shift kit from jack cotton today.the tranny looked good inside as far as no burnt fluid or clutch material and such.im not trying to skimp on my mods i simply dont have the money anymore to do the mods.im disabled and am not working so i cant spend money cause something is nice to have.i would love to have a fast efi but i got to work with what i got..like the servo jack said the stock one will work fine thats 80 bucks for something else.thanks for all the input guys

Gotcha, your question makes sense due to your circumstances and Jack did the right thing by selling you the products that best fit your need and budget.

I wouldn't put Slicks or Dot's on it to save you from future part breakages.
