Anyone running an internal wastegate with one of the billet turbos? How is it setup? At what boost level are you running? Any spikes or creep?

I have a 3" Terry Houston with a billet 6765 w/ .85 exhaust and RJC bleeder valve. The wastegate hole has been ported to 1.28", but still notice 3-5# boost creep at WOT, boost set at 22#. I would like to eliminate this issue before turning it up farther. Is this possible with my current downpipe or do I need to go with a new RJC downpipe with the bigger puck or with an external wastegate?

External gates can be just as hard to gain control. You really have to hog out the wg hole unless you run it off the header.

Did you contour the edge when you ported yours?

RJC sells the big puck. It can be installed in your pipe. I did one for jasjams a while back. Do a search. He has some pics up here somewhere.

Yes it is radiused into the housing towards the header. I have maybe an 1/8" or so that the puck is seating onto around the wastegate hole.

I recall that thread. Who's the manufacturer of the downpipe that you put the RJC puck into for Jasjams. Do you recall how big you had open up the wastegate hole?

Thank you sir.

I was very happy with the way it turned out.

Not sure how much Jason went to town on the hole but with the RJC puck you can hog it without worry.

I'm glad to see a member that uses the search! I have been in the garage dealing with the damage a billet 6262 can cause. I really didn't open my wastegate hole a lot. It was never going to be run under 25psi and only had like 2-3 psi of boost creep. I had a ton of space to keep porting. The new owner can keep it at a steady 20 psi. He has a THDP with a stock puck but I believe it may not be sealling 100%. That RJC puck and Rick saved me hiundreds of bucks and time.

Oh Rick, got another cracked header for you to repair LOL!

Any idea as to how big the hole was opened up to? I also am looking to run in the neighborhood of 25-28#, just don't want to see it go into the mid 30's unexpectedly.
