Yeah, I agree. I think this is more of a style/form choice than a function one and that is a good thing. I love having options. You know what I mean - many paths to the the end. I have a Scanmaster and was thinking of getting a Powerlogger, but I might check this out just to open my imagination to some different possibilities. It would be nice to listen to my music, watch my car parameters when I'm driving, and still have the option to use the device to my read sports and email when I'm home on the throne. For six months out of the year, my Scanmaster just sits there. I love it, but man it's lazy as hell. Options, man, just options... Maybe the title of the thread set the wrong tone. We all know how passionate people get when it comes to how they like to do things. "Better" is in the eye of the beholder. Over my many years of home ownership, I've never met a contractor who didn't think the way HE plasters with the tools HE uses is, obviously, the way it SHOULD be done.
But back to the issue. Me?I'm one of the 2% people in the world who have an Android phone, an iPad AND a android tablet (Galaxy Note 10.1), so obviously I am not married to any one system. They all have their specific uses.
For this situation, I'm looking at something like this
tablet.
At $50 for the tablet $80 for the cable and $20 for the app, someone who is not already in the Android world (or maybe just wanted an add-on device) could get in for $150. That's not a bad price at all for something you can use for six months for one thing then throw it on the livingroom table and use it for a universal remote (plus all else it can do) AND cheaper than a Scanmaster to boot. I tend to not get passionate about the tools I use, so I'm always open to new and different possibilities.
BTW I also really love this
dock....hmmm.
To me, anything that gets me excited about my baby is a good thing
