BGC crossover pipe issue

So the TR has an exhaust leak that seems to be coming from the crossover pipe to header connection on the passenger side. The crossover pipe is a BGC unit I purchased years ago. It seems that the pipe is too big on the passenger side. The pipe bottoms out on the header flange before it seals. I was thinking of cutting about a ¼ inch off the pipe to give it more clearance before it contacts the header flange. Anyone else ever have this issue and what did you do to fix it?

I don't have the BGC crossover, but I did have to go to an exhaust shop to get mine crossover lengthened when I added an engine girdle. I think it was fairly inexpensive to do ($30-$50?)
