Has anyone relaced a stock manifold ported by champion with a stock unported bgc manifold? Was the change noticable either way? Will a modded stock tb perform as well as a 70mm tb? I would like to replace my modded stock tb with a 70mm and my manifold with a bgc if there was a benefit in doing so Thanks

There is a local stage 2 car here who has a ported stock manifold and went 9.10's on it. Depending upon the power level of the car, I would think the BGC could be inefficient compared to a ported stocker?

BGC had posted a statement in their old catalog that duttweiller had dynoed the bgc intake to 989 hp-true?

I dont know much about intakes . But in my opinion it would depend on how much air you can force thru them. I dont see the BGC intake to have any revolutionary changes or design.

The all new Champion intake is a different story. Lots of new ideas and changes in that one.

Lou,

Maybe we can get Champion or one of their vendors to post some information on the intake? It's just a thought!

What exactly are the differences between the BGC and the Champion intakes- it looks to me that the BGC should flow pretty good- appears to be better than a ported stock intake. Cant see how the ported stock intake could outflow the BGC. i know jack cotton used his down into the 8s and i think OTTO had his down to the 9s-how many ported stockers ran in the 8&9s?

There are several, but people have run in the 9s with the stock mass air as well.
My point is just because it can be done does notmean that it is the best choice.

i cant find any info on the new champion intake. who knows what about it?

Yes and just because a couple have done it doesnt mean how many and what are my chances of doing it?

I know about them there is a picture on our web site we have them in stock.
The ports are straighter, have more room for porting and can be made into a raised runner version when using the GN1 head ported to match. This will have significantly higher airflow while still keeping good velocity. They come complete with fuel rails and a larger upper plenum. Let mne kow what other info you need
Mike

I have Champions intake that's fully race ported. It's huge in the runners! It also has enough thickness in the runners to port it even more. I'm willing to say that if some wanted to get really crazy and port this thing until the runner walls are only 1/8th inch thick it would run in the 5's in the 1/4!
