Bigger out of state purchase?

I am looking to purchase a tranny out of state from someone on the board and was curious the best way that this could be handled for the both of us? Any ideas?

I would rather not front all the money and wait to see if it gets here and I am sure he feels the same way. Is COD an option? What kinds of options do we have?

Whenever I do an internet transaction I always use paypal or postal money order. I have used escrow services in the past. If sending a money order, use a postal money order and send in registered so they have to sign for it. This way you know they got the money. Plus, if they don't deliver, they've committed internet fraud and mail fraud.

You could write an agreement stating you'll pay 1/2 up front and 1/2 upon delivery. Sign the agreement and have it notorized, send to him, have sign it and notorize it and send it back.
