I have a question about upgrading to a bigger tire and wheel combo on my 2003 Cavalier. I just got the 16" alloy wheels that were the premium wheel offered on the cav to upgrade from my 14" hubcaps with 195-70-14 tires. I know i know... i could have spent the money on the GN but i drive this car a lot more than the GN so i had to try and make it a little less wimpy looking. The question is how do i figure out how much this is throwing off my speedometer and how and where can i take it to have it recalibrated (cheaply) for this change. Thanks

Click on the link and enter your stock wheel/tire size and then your new wheel/tire size. It will tell you the speedometer differences between the 2. The cheapest way to deal with the difference is to adjust your driving to the new actual speed vs. the reading on the speedometer. You might even notice that you put less miles on the car now too! :D A tranny shop can do the speedo gear if you want it to be accurate.

it said when the speedo says 60, i will really be going 60.3... thats nothnig what i expected. I thought it would be off by a few MPH. Not even worth getting reacalibrated. Thanks for the link!
