i want to go low 10's for now because of the stock untouched short block but i am currently building a girdled 109 and it will have ported gn1's so i want to dip in the high nines 135mph...i just want to buy once and forgot it for a while. 130 mats aren't too bad ..it maybe all i need .......thanks for all the replys and help guys.....................................................Bob

130 is good,But if you are planning to go faster, bite the bullit and go for the stacked on Dave has and have pipes made.

Super6, how fast have you gone so far?
With a Duttweiler front mount i went into the 134 mph range with 2.5'' intercooler pipes.

Se Turbo = $1600???
Ok, thats a bit out there unless this is the 3000GT crowd.

I would get a used V1 with alky, still come in under $1600 and way under the Se Turbo's inlet temps.

The new 28x18x6 BA Performance IC appears to be the ticket for all you 9's and faster guys.

I don't think the core will need to be that thick. Remember weight is a concern too. The best performing cooler that is the lightest!!! We'll see these coolers down at Reynolds.

the car has run the best of 12.40's at 111 mph with stock intercooler and turbo...my goal is much better than that. if i am going to spend a good bit of money on an intercooler why not put some more with it and get something that i will not out grow..

Ted A i will be in Reynolds to watch......................thanks Bob

how fast do you plan on going? Cottons - are on several 9 sec. cars / PTE - front mount has run 8 sec. / Fair Park racing - stock location has gone high 9's. by the time you need more, what you buy now will be old school, & there will be something bigger & better on the market. just a thought but instead of spending over $1,000 on an intercooler, spend about 1/2 that on a used one or a stock location stretch & put the other 1/2 on something that will pick up the pace like inj. & a turbo.

111MPH is great with the stock turbo and intercooler!

thanks John

i was cheating with Julio's alky kit and Eric's chip :) ...that was the very first run on the car at 20 psi of boost at Reynolds last year. If i hadn't drove the car 3 hours there i would have turned the boost up more. i broke it a couple of weeks later(my fault) so i never got a chance to put slicks on it. i think i could have got a few more mph out of it but who knows. it was a blast to drive with instant spool up  now if i can get this new setup to spool like that but with much more a$$ i will be a happy and broke man..........Bob

From the Turbo Street Modified – TSM Proposed Rules
Intercooler
Any stock location or front mount air to air intercooler is allowed. No part of a stock location intercooler (not the shroud) may extend down no more than 11.5” below the centerline of the crankshaft. A front mount intercooler, except for the piping, may not extend down below the bottom of the stock located radiator support.
<snip>

Just wondering, is it because it extend more than 11.5" below the centerline of the crankshaft?
I think we are talking about front mounts here. As such, it is sentence #3, not 2, that applies and thereby eliminates the use of Jacks BIG front mount in TSM. It is legal in TSO and several cars do use it. Remember Tony Occhipinti's car at Salem?

Scott, just to clarify my IC..... my standard front mount, used on many of the TSM cars is still legal. I believe the new IC, I tested on my car, which is 1.5 times larger than the TSM legal core, may be being confused here.
hope that helps,
