What is the biggest turbo you could use w/ no bad side effects with stock heads? Also, what size stall for say a TE-60 or 63?

PS: I'm thinking about going with a bigger turbo, MSD 50's.

I was told that pt51 or te60/1 is a limit if you have stock
heads.

You can use whatever size you want! It may not be the most ideal sitiuation but the car will still go. When I got this car it had bone stock untouched heads with a T63E and went 11.78@113 on 20 PSI. You really need bigger than 50's for a 63 and a 3400 true stall.

I run a PTE52 with stock heads and it works well. A fellow club member runs a PTE54 with stock heads and runs 11.0's consistently. Another club member runs a TE45 (63mm compressor) and a 210/205 cam and bone stock heads and also runs 11.0's very consistently.

No side effects with any of these turbo's that I am aware of. You will obviously need the supporting convertor and injectros etc for whatever turbo you choose.

I ran a best of 11.54 with a 63 and a 3k 9/11 converter. Just sent it back to Bruce to loosen it up, a little slow out of the whole with the 3k but after 60ft it ripped. Match the converter to the turbo and you should be fine. I went from a 44 to a 63 and very happy with it.
