so my friend has a GN and his turbo sounds like a pissed off pigeon when he rolls into the parking lot. he says that if i just mention the words "blow off valve" you guys will freak out.

so what's the deal here...why aren't you guys trying to trick out your cars like vin diesel and the rest of the street racing kiddies? are you all too cool for blow off valves or what?

ok, seriously, i'm not talking about atmospheric BOV's but a simple recirculating BOV so it doesn't sound like your turbo is trying to **** itself every time you let off the gas?

:)

hear my turbo what...sh!t!ng itself?

Do a search.

Ive had talks with friends who worked at turbo shops and they seem to think that every GN needs one to prevent thrust bearing damage.

I then asked "how many of those turbo's with bad thrust bearing's had BOV's??"There anwser was "everyone of them" Well then how the hell do BOV's help if youre getting all these turbo's with thrust bearing damage?Simple anwser, they dont.(turbos in question were off of other cars besides GN's)

My 75k mile stocker was tight as can be when I pulled it off for an upgrade. No BOV here and I wont run one because I dont want the "chance" of a boost leak.

Dammit! I wish my turbo would **** itself, then I can justify an upgrade with the wife! (errr, ummm, maybe an upgrade OF the wife) At 193k miles, the damn thing just keeps on farting!
