blown head gasket???

I just bought my first turbo buick,, 86 ttype, and upon further review, I noticed part of the head gasket hanging out at #3 cylinder. I've been driving it for a while like this, seems ok... what gives? If it is sticking out of the block/head area it's got to be bad , right?
