I have my Blue Tops installed with a Thrasher 92 octane chip and the car is running good.I am going to put my TA 49 on now.I know a Thrasher will support up to a TA 49 and nothing bigger so here is my question.I have fuel pressure at 45 pounds now,02's are great. When I install the 49 should I turn the fuel pressure up to 47 and adjust from there or what?Bruce

I don't think you need to adjust the fuel pressure as long as you don't run any higher boost. My thinking is 15#'s of boost is 15#'s no matter if it is a stock turbo or a PT-70. For example I have blue tops in my car currently with a T63E turbo and I run 42-43#'s of static fuel pressure and ~16#'s of boost with no problems (that I'm aware of at least ;) I don't have a Scanmaster, yet.). HTH.

Thrashers were designed to run at 45 PSI static pressure...44-46 would probably be OK but anything else and it may not run right
...

As for the statement:

***I know a Thrasher will support up to a TA 49 and nothing bigger***

..where did get this idea from?...support of a specific turbo size has nothing to do with the chip...the turbo you run and are able to support is dependent on the size of injector...

Well, as with any chip or bolt-on, you have to check scan tool numbers and tune to that...You can't just bolt stuff on and not check what readings you are getting because no matter what anyone says, no two engines are going to react to the changes the same way...

The 45# f.p. setting is not set in stone, it is meant to be a starting point...It is not wrong to vary the pressure up and down, but that should only be done by looking at a scan tool...As an example, I was running a Thrasher 92 for stock injs on my 85 GN, which was still a hot-air car at the time...To get the car to run with the O2's in the low 800's, I had to have the fuel pressure set at about 38-39# w/vacuum line off...Bear in mind that this was a hot-air car, and the air going into the motor was hotter and less dense than an IC'd car, which is why I had to run a lower fuel pressure to get the numbers lower...But I was using a scan tool...

Keep an eye on the scan tool readings and adjust accordingly...If you don't have a scan tool yet, you really ought to get one...not only will it help you tune the car, but will also help troubleshoot when something is not right...
