Well, as with any chip or bolt-on, you have to check scan tool numbers and tune to that...You can't just bolt stuff on and not check what readings you are getting because no matter what anyone says, no two engines are going to react to the changes the same way...
The 45# f.p. setting is not set in stone, it is meant to be a starting point...It is not wrong to vary the pressure up and down, but that should only be done by looking at a scan tool...As an example, I was running a Thrasher 92 for stock injs on my 85 GN, which was still a hot-air car at the time...To get the car to run with the O2's in the low 800's, I had to have the fuel pressure set at about 38-39# w/vacuum line off...Bear in mind that this was a hot-air car, and the air going into the motor was hotter and less dense than an IC'd car, which is why I had to run a lower fuel pressure to get the numbers lower...But I was using a scan tool...
Keep an eye on the scan tool readings and adjust accordingly...If you don't have a scan tool yet, you really ought to get one...not only will it help you tune the car, but will also help troubleshoot when something is not right...
