I am wanting to know something that I have been wondering about. Now that the 2-step reduces the engines torque but allows boost to be built. So, what are the effects on the transmission? Since there isn't much torque at take off - ---- Do or are you required to have a well built transmission? What are the plus and minus of this? Can or do you run it on the street? Does it put a hit on the transmission like a transbrake?

with a 2-step the torque is a lot like brake-torquing, so there is not really a "hit" on the transmission when you launch. The torque climbs rapidly at launch but its not the same thing as a transbrake (transbreak). With a brake, there are a lot of parts that take a "hit" when you launch. (its fun though)

If the trans is built for your power level, you should be fine.

Bob, thanks for the info. I was kinda figuring that but wanted more defined answer. Do you know of anyone running both 2 step and transbrake?

A transbrake is used with a 2 step. The spool up feature is good for a car foot braking, but can't hold alot of boost.
