I need info on If a 85 frame is the same as a 87. I am having alignment problems with the radiator support being to high about 1 inch. The frame is from g-body and was powder coated. The radiator support has a 1 inch spacer under the bushing so that the fender aligns with the doors. The bumper is to low to fit now. How can I tell if the body bushings are right. Does anybody have a part number or pics of the right part. I believe the last owner bought them from kirbans. The engine is out of the car and every thing looks ok. This bugs me because i want it right. Also if the radiators supports are different from v6 or v8 cars. If there is any difference Thanks

X2. Frames are identical. I had to use big washers to shim the rad support to fit as I had the same issue. Go to your local hardware store and get some flat washers for 1" dia bolts. They are the same diameter as the body mount bushings. I had to shim at least 3/4" on each side to get the fenders to line up. As for the bumper, there should be enough adjustment in the mounting plates and/or the bumper shocks to get it to line up. HTH ---Keith

Thanks for replies. I went and looked at it again. The fire wall frame mounts look like they used washers under the bushings but not on the under side.I think its not fully compressed. There is a 3/4 height difference from frame to body, thus throwing the front bumper off. There is not enough adjustment up and down on bumper.I will try to weld in new washers on the frame to get the body to sit down better and than bolt it down. I dont know why they did`nt fix the frame before they powder coated it??

After taking to a body shop they came to a conclusion that the donor frame is bent.He showed me places where they heat the frame and bent it. Looks like they bent it to far down and may have to get a new frame.
