Just finished up Razors alky kit install. Went really well and I'm now working on the tuning process from the board. My question is really about the boost adjustment. Turning the rod shorter one full turn didn't really seem to make a difference in boost. Tried two full turns, same result. Maybe I'm just not seeing the boost gauge well enough but it hasn't really seemed to change. Could this somehow be a result of the alky install? I'm at about 18-19 psi. Stock turbo, stock IC. Otherwise the car is running great. Scanmaster looks good, no knock. I'm only shooting for about 20 psi.

You probably have a 18 psi wastegate. You will need a HD actuator to get past 18-19psi

Interesting. I don't think it is original simply because there was what looked like an older one in a box of stuff I got from the PO. Who knows, it could be original though. Is there a way to look at it and tell?
Thanks for the info!

Would a manual boost controller help in this scenario, allowing more as needed i.e. RJC style??

Keep turning it...I got 22psi out of mine that wasn't a HD you're going to love the alky

That should work. I'm running a wastegate that's only good to 20-22psi by itself. With the RJC MBC I'm at 25psi and can get more out of it if I had the octane to support it. Running with the wastegate rod shortened as far as it goes will sometimes cause boost creep.

Unless you get an alky chip you are going to be way rich.. The chip has a set amount of fuel and the alky adds more on top of it. Need to get with Eric and get you a TT chip. I just put one in my dads car and it made a world of difference

Thanks Clint - I have an Extender ship that was ordered for Alky (I believe) by the PO and was then "detuned" using the Translator to retard timing. At least that is what I remember him saying. Does that sound possible? Would B. Bailey be able to confirm what chip of his I have?

If you can PM the numbers on the chip then probably so
