Anyone ever had this?

I have a very slow to spool (on the line) Ta-49. Takes forever to get to even 5 psi.

Blue-tops, stock converter, stock elbow,2 peice down-pipe.

When it does get going down the track, it's not consistant.

1st gear-15psi. 2nd gear-18psi. 3rd. gear- starts at 20 creeps to 25psi.

I can adjust the rod looser by a full inch and still get 22 psi. in 3rd.

Makes it hard to tune and slows me down. Runs steady 12.3 @113. Mph says my e.t. should be better.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I had a similar problem when I went to a TA49 from stock. It was caused by 2 things: One, my convertor was too tight, and per Jack Cottons reccomendation, I put in a single disc 3200 stall PI convertor, and it improved things 10 fold. Two, I was running too rich, which will kill spool up. I had RA's chips, and they were way fat. Switched to a Jay Carter chip, better, but got a lot better with a translator plus and ext. chip. HTH
