boost gauge hookup?

When I installed my VDO boost gauge. I hooked it to the tube
that comes off the turbo charger brass fitting & heads up to a sensor that is attached to the top nut on the passenger side rocker cover. Is this correct? Seems to work ok.

That will give you an accurate reading I suppose, but it's not a smart lilne to tap into. That little sensor on the valve cover is your wastegate solenoid and its part of the system that controls boost. If you tap the boost line into that system and the boost line cracks/comes off/etc, you can have an overboost situation. Might want to try this install instead.

I did use all new hoses so it seems tight.
