boost question

with spring coming soon,ha ha ha
have a question. usually keep boost about 18lbs for the street.
last fall put in some good fuel and shorted up the rod 2 turns for more boost
and the boost was still the same. car runs fine with the 49 turbo, but cant understand why the boost didnt go up 2 lbs. it used to be 2 turns per lb.
any suggestions

You may have run out of adjustment on the rod? BTW, 18# is a bit much for pump gas with warmer weather coming, but if there's not detonation, go for it !!!

when run 110 octane had boost at 21lbs so the rod is okay. does the wastgate wear out? only drive it 2k per year and dont really race it. 5k on new engine built pretty good

x2, non-HD gate will have a hard time making 20+ lbs even with rjc boost controller. And yes, the spring inside gets weak just from sitting under increased tension from previously turning it up. Get an HD actuator with caution though as you can't turn it down much below 18 lbs even on a broken in one.
