I'm going to get a BB turbo this week .Full throttle 6157 BB looks just right to me But what cover? E 3in X2 in is very command But the ported S 4inX2.5 looks very inviting. I all ready have a stretched IC with 2.5 neck. No need for the Reducer hose .But need to reduce down to my 3 in mas air.The block and heads are stock I have a split duration can from Full throttle 206/212 Poston headers & 3 DP Exstream trans with 2500 stall. In your opinion E S or S ported?

I would do te S cover over the E. It "should" help. But since you have the 2.5inch big neck IC, might as well.

Thanks for the help . Ill what just a few more days before I place the order ,But it looks like the S is the majority. Why do they make 2 and a 2.5?Is there flow to be had?

I thought there was only a 4" intake and 2.5 exhaust for the S and 3" intake and 2" for exhaust for the E cover.

No theory. But I will try to ask my ? better . S cover 6157 comes 4 in intake (suction)2.5 exhaust (pressure) side. E cover 6157 comes 3 in intake (suction) 2 in exhaust (pressure). I believe the Inducer & exoduser re mane the same for both E & S .Why the difference in size? ( Cover) Garret maps show no difference. Inquiring minds ask dumb Questions some time To beater under stand teary. The first Three say go for the S Its my gut filling too,I just don't want to lose the 3.8 drive ability on the low end. Most of the time smaller intakes make the air move faster Increasing torque.Split duration cams like this too. This a nubee talking

well i have an s cover te60 and a split duration cam and went mid 11's with low boost. my drivability is no different

Regarding the airflow not needing a ported shroud, the 61mm is the same compressor on a 35R, at approx 65 lb/min you wont need a ported shround with a GN. Ive seen that turbo on something as small as a 1.8 liter and had zero surge.

Hensleyt, the different compressor covers are primarily for under hood packaging. The larger covers will have slightly higher efficiency levels but also take up more space, so its a compromise. Like Quip said, no difference in driveability.
