Used to hang out in that bar before the TV show was even thought of.:) Bull & Finch was the real name if I remember right. There was a fancy restaurant above it to. Girlfriend at the time was going to Fisher Junior College down the street from there. Good ol days with one crazy chick.

How fast is the August Yankees/Red Sox series going to sell out? It looks like tickets for it haven't gone on sale yet...or are they sold out already?

I was thinking about doing something similar for my Boston vacation this year. Flying into Logan, taking the T where ever I needed to go and making a long weekend out of. I wanted to go to a Sox game while I was there though (cheap seats).

Recommendations on where not to stay? I was hoping to stay somewhere near harbor (realizing that I'm going to pay severely for a hotel - probably around $275 a night).

I ended up just getting tickets from stubhub.
I stayed up all night trying to get tickets and only got standing room only.
We stayed at a LaQuinta (free because of the points I had earned) north of downtown. We walked to the T about 1 mile and took the T everywhere we went.
We did all the tourist things.
We liked the JFK museum best.
Fenway was great.
