This trans was part of a package deal for the 87 Roller I bought.
Brand new never installed.
I went to go plug in the harness connector and it will not go in,
Looks like this bow tie model has a three pin connector.
Ours is a 4 pin.
I dropped the pan to compare to the BRF core I had in storage, there is no provision on the valve body for the 3rd gear switch.
This car project was a few hours work from start up and now I am dead in the water and Bow tie OD is closed until Monday.
What do I do?
Can I use this trans, or what ....I am pretty steamed right now.....
I am wondering if the TT chip will be ok with out the 3rd gear signal.

You don't "need" the third gear switch but it does provide info if your chip is programed for things happening in third.
I am using an AA valve body with just the fourth gear switch. You can get a different receptical for the trans that will allow you to plug the existing plug in. You could mod or replace the plug on your wiring . Or you could make a jumper with a "dead" pin and use the existing plug and receptical.
Call Eric up and ask him about what the chip is programmed to do.

Eric stated that his chips rely more on MPH than the 3rd 4th switch.
i left a message w/ the company I will see what they offer up with as a solution.
