I am thinking of running one for the 400.. heard nothing but good things about them. Good quality pieces, minimal slippage..

Anybody here have any feedback that has or is running one?:)

I have one in my th400. My new Bradco (put it in about 3 weeks ago) spools great (enough to redlight:redface: ) and has minimum slippage at the top.

I ran one in my old 200r4 too. I replaced a pos PATS converter with a Bradco in that tranny. I broke the stator twice in the PATS, never had any issues with the Bradco. You get what you pay for.

6450RPM-28"tire-3.42 gear-1 trans ratio-151.99mph=3.40%

This is the info from my last convertor
Im using 6450 as RPM as it was the highest in the datalog.
It could have quite possible been 6300-6400RPM
making it even more efficient

Best of all it spooled an 80mm non bb on a pro tree no problem.

After just looking at Dicks record setting datalog his was about 6.20%
By my calculations

These were both PTC convertors
Mine was a 18 blade 9.5" unit
Dicks was a 19 blade Bolt together

Whats weird on my car, which has been dead consistent all year with over 100 runs, is that I never gained any mph from going with a converter with 18% to a converter with 8%. The only difference has been what rpm I'm at through the traps.

Time to find more power;)
Turning less rpm thru the trap is also better for engine longetivety

Working on that power thing:) I have a few things holding me back...it's just a money thing, or lack there of:eek:

But I'm only turning in the low 6000's through the traps. 6% is only about 200 rpm's for me.

BTW, what do you estimate tire growth as for 28x10.5 m/t's? Adjusting by 1" makes a huge difference in percentage. TCI - TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Racing Calculators

Otto used driveshaft speed to calculate his. I saw those passes. No doubt about the PTC units. If your slip went down 10% and your mph didnt go up on the same tune and ambient temp id say your turbo is out of breath.

Bradco Bolt together

I have a Bradco alum bolt together I bought from Kip @ Excessive Acceleration (who is a Top Gun Point series sponsor).

This weekend at Atco we were 7320 in the traps with a 28.5" tire, 3.70 gear and 162.45mph which is 3.3% according to TCI's website. At 161.98 mph we were 7230 which is 2.32%. Earlier in the year in the mid 150's and down on power we were less than 2%. With the new Extreme automatics cam we can spool a PTE88 without the VSC and race on a protree with this converter. With the old cam profile it was difficult without the VSC. Chance PTC adn Bradco all seem to build quality stuff so I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I went with Kip and Bradco because of the service and willingness to "get it right" without a lot of additional expense.

This is great info. Those units are definitely working out well.
