When ever i use the brake the dash board "brake" light comes on.
Is this a sign of the powermaster going out?
If it is going out will it go out all of a sudden.I dont want to crash and burn if this thing is going to fail on me.LOL!

Sounds like a bad Accumulator to me. It's typical

yeppers. i have this problem too.

its getting tough to find just an accumulator ball. you can get a Cardone remanufactured complete powermaster unit with a warranty for around 400 bucks. this is the route i went with. it even came with directions on how to properly bench bleed the new unit to get it prepped for putting on the car.

I see on the kirbans website they sell the accumulator ball for $80
Haven't had a chance to call them,do they not carry this anymore??Was wondering why you would go with a complete new powermaster if you needed just the ball.
Does the bad ball indicate more problems in the future for other components?

The balls have gone up in cost substantailly as the stock wears thin. Get one while you can. Don't take chances with your balls.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just caled the local buick dealer for a price check on the ball.
$193.00
I then asked how much for a new powermaster. He said "in the thousands".

They are really proud of this parts,uh.

the powermaster is the most ridiculous brake set up i've ever seen. anyhoo forget buying a GM they are way overpriced on this a GM unit will run you at least a grand.. just get a whole remanufactured Cardone one for like 400 bucks. comes with a warranty and directions. i ordered mine from either advance auto or autozone online. they both carry them.

unless you're really hurting for money then try and find a accumulator ball but the prices on those are getting ridiculous.

My local dealer quoted me the same $190 price on the ball but said I could have it for $125. I got mine from Brian at G-Body parts for $75.

My 2nd Cardone reman. in 2 years took a dump last week. I called Advance auto parts to confirm it is in stock, nope. They called Cardone: out of stock as well, and no ETA. I got them to give me full credit since it is not available, and after all was said and done, all necessary accessories, brake pedal and billet vac block included, I netted $10 to swap to vacuum.

I should have done it on the first go-around years ago. I like the pedal modulation much better AND I sleep at night.
