brake light wont turn off

the brake light is on and it wont go out, the brakes work 100% perfect and the fluid level is good. the light wasnt on i parked the car with the parking brake on and when i got back to it and took the brake off the light never went out. cant seem to figure it out, could it be the switch on the back of the parking brake pedal ? this car does not have a powermaster (i think thats what its called) brake setup

I would check the switch at the P-brake. It is cheap POS and when they break the warning light usually stays on. If you cant find a new part they are plentiful at the boneyards. Every RWD GM from the 80's used the same part.
