Does the brakes work ok now? Call me later at my home number 732-4349. I was going to call I don't know if its too early for you.

Welcome to the nightmare known as the Powermaster Brake system.............

Lucky you didn't get into an accident.

Convert to vacuum brakes and have piece of mind, and be DONE WITH IT, in my opinion!.....

I have been running vacuum brakes since 1996, and haven't touched them, or worried about them failing ever since.

Yep, what Geoff said. The Vacuum brake swap is very easy to install. The instructions say you need to drop the steering column (but you don't) took me and a friend all of 30 minutes. They work awesome. :)

oooh..i remember that problem. cant say i miss it. convert! if you want reliablility. the powermaster is great none the less...but i dont wanna end up plowing into someone eleses car.

the damn motor probably too a dump. i had 3 motors that died. there is a contacter in there that always gets coroded. just go to vacuum like everybody else allready said and be done with it for god.:D

Is anyone available to help me install on a weekend my vacuum brakes. This thread got me worried because I take H-3 to work and it's a dangerous place to find out my brakes are now working. Your place or mine. I live in Kahaluu and willing to pay a reasonable fee.

Thanks.

Manny

Been searching the site and can't find specifics on where to get a conversion kit, what's involved with the task, pricing, etc. Anyone here have some info (Geoff?!).

In the meanwhile, I'll go search gnttype.org

Thanks,
David

You'll need....

A master clylinder and vacuum booster from pretty much any G-body car.
-I think. :o :D Mine is from an N/A Regal. :)

The brake pedal that would work with it.

An aluminum vacuum block to provide a vacuum connection to the booster. (Kirban, Caspers, etc.). Alternatively, you can go the cheap route and buy a plastic tee and "T" into the PCV line.

Some vacuum hose.

Brake fluid.

I think that's about it....

"Red Regal T" like Jackson mentioned, sells the parts necessary to do the job. Check out the parts for sale section.

When you are ready to install it. Start off by removing the drivers seat- Unless you are skinny, or a contortionist, or both. (I am neither, by the way...:D).

Everything will bolt right in! :)
