Today I was driving home from work and I lost brake power. When I did the pedal it turned all "mushy". I thought that it may have been a rear brake cylinder, because it was the same feeling that I once got in my T-Type. On parking it I discovered that I was leaking brake fluid (badly) from the spot where the Brake Fluid Resovior and the Master Cylinder meet. How do I fix this?

Rebuilt, lifetime warranty from Discount Auto Parts - $199.
The PM is complete from the firewall bracket to the lines.

A mushy pedal with loss of brake power normally indicates a bad master cylinder. You may want to have the master cylinder checked out.

Convert to vaccum brakes. I just went through this. I was going down a highway and someone decided to turn quick. I hit the brakes hard and there was a rock hard pedel waiting for me. That was a rebuilt powermaster from auto zone. It only lasted 6 months and the pump motor locked up. I went to a junkyard that weekend and pulled a complete vaccum brake setup from a 87 or 88 olds cutlass supreme. What a difference, it feels great knowing ill have brakes when i have to stop. Good luck. MIKE

I had the same problem several times.....a hard pedal and no brakes. I had to use various techniques to get her to stop safely.

I've had the same problem...

Try building boost & getting a decent launch or 60 ft with those conditions! Impossible!!
