Attempted to replace the rear brake line on the T-Type today, couldn't get the thing in there. The line goes from the drivers side frame rail to a crossmember above the axle, then from the crossmember there's a rubber hose which T's off at the axle to both rear cylinders. Got the old one out, bent a new one, couldn't get it in there. Any companies make pre-formed lines? Any tips on getting it in there? Any alternatives to the metal lines?

Thanks,
Sam

I know this company does make a complete OEM replacement or stainless steel brake line kit for all G-bodys.

As for getting it in there.... You need to just keep trying, sometimes it takes a while. Did you attach the otherside first? Most of the time it's easier to start at the rear and work your way forward, that way the rest of the line can move and flex while you try to get it in place. That line is a real pain in the.... The parts store did give you 1/4 inch brake line right? Just wondering I've seen it happen before.

Gave up after an hour, finally just bled the line and crimped it so i'd at least have front brakes so i can move the car around the lot while I fix it. Picked up a 40" long piece of 1/4" line, had it bent perfect, but it didn't matter how I tried it wouldnt' go back the way it came... Just about ended up straightening it back out by the time I gave up for the day. Was thinking of an alternate route, or maybe braided steel might be easier to route the line where it needs to go.

I'll check out the link tho, thanks.
