No More Leaking Headers Due To Loose Bolts!
Split-Lock mechanical locking bolts are simple to use and they stop leaks caused by loose fasteners. Gone are the days of safety wire, locking compounds, lock washers, split flanges, E-clips, and luck! Made from high quality 8740 chrome-moly steel, these bolts have a tensile strength of 180,000 psi. The locking pin set is made from 17-4ph stainless steel to prevent corrosion. Both the chrome-moly and stainless steel fasteners have internal and external threads that have been rolled for added strength with a class 2A thread fit. Vibration, heat and torque will not affect its locking ability. This unique 12-point locking fastener has a 3/8'' head with 9/16'' head flange for additional header clearance. After installing the Split-Lock fasteners all you have to do is use a hex key wrench to tighten the set pin to expand the split tip of the fastener to lock the fastener in place. This actually forces the threads, that are on the fastener, into the root of the threads of the threaded hole or nut to lock the fastener. This operation also locks the set pin by spreading the split tapered seat in the fastener to lock the set pin. The fastener can be removed by simply loosening the set pin and screwing out the fastener. The Split-Lock fastener can be used over and over again while retaining its locking ability.
