Can one of the tranmission builders tell me if the GN BRF tranny case is different from a regular 200 4 R case.

My understanding is that the valve body, governor, separator plates and servo are different, but is the "bare trans case" different in any way.

I ask because I'd like to know if I can transfer my BRF inards to a non BRF case and have a GN BRF's identical performance.

Any input here would be greatly appreciated

yes , they are the same, been there done that. the one i got is actually universal. it will bolt up to a bunch of diffrent engines.:D

cases are interchangable but there are differences between in the worm track near the center support area ,and elsewhere between the early and late castings.

Thanks Guys for your help and input

Chris, do you have a break in the casting numbers where the castings are the same as the BRF, and are the changes in the cases for strengthening purposes ..... in other words can I use any of the castings with confidence ... that I won't be using a weaker unit.

Chris, I'm also interested in your upgraded valve body that you use in your stage 2 unit. Perhaps you could e-mail me and we could discuss this. Use " shyrlie@telusplanet.net " as the address or perhaps you would rather talk on the phone. Let me know.
