Well, as murphys law would have it.. I installed my tranny today and got my green car driving. Well, seems like the brake line leading to the back of the car broke, or has a pin hole in it.
Glad it broke in the driveway and not when i was at the track....

So, i could patch it, or replace it..
The original line is kinda rusty, so i dont want to splice it cause it could happen again.

Has anyone replaced the line on their cars for the rear?
Is it possible to replace the line from portioning valve to the back rubber hose, or is it shorter than that?

Who needs brakes, take all brake related stuff off to lighten up the car and replace with a parachute!!! JK.

Same thing happen to me. replaced it from block all the way back with an oem ss replacement from classic tube, got whole car in the air as high as I could on jack stands, 18" or so. removed all brackets and snake in new one, pay attention at how you snake old one out and I think I removed rear wheel on that side too. OEM fuel line was much harder for me to replace, the line from the filter to where it ends in front of the tank. The wheel needed to be removed for the gas line for sure, did both at same time. PS: PIA for me. Oh, and it makes it easier if you remove the trans cross brace.
 
Replacing the line is the best way to go. However if you are in a bind and you can find a clean section at either end you can repair it. Simple Cut the line with a tubing cutter. Slide on some like nuts, double flare the lines and install the new line with couplers. This is a safe and reliable repair. If you have the time it would be much better to replace it with what the other member reccomened.
 
I replaced my rear steel brake line from the prop valve back. I used: one 60" piece, one 30" piece, one 12" piece - all 1/4" line, 3 brass unions, and (I think) an 8" adapter line NAPA p/n 813-1157. The adapter line is a 9/16" blue fitting on one end which screws into the prop valve and 1/4" on the other. I pulled the old brake line out as intact as possible and bent the new lines in the floor using it as a pattern.
