Great work! Can you share the source for the bushings? Those look good and it's on my list for 2017.

I think you'll have to cut slots in the trunk floor, open them up, and take the rusted nuts out that way

X2

Did this two winters ago. I had to cut out the RH #6 and LH #4 and #6 from the inside. Fortunately the cups that hold them were in decent shape. I didn't disconnect much, however I didn't jack to 8". It was labor intensive because I did it on jackstands in my garage. I did document plenty with pictures but unfortunately I'm deployed currently and do not have access. I did rout and edge on a 2x4 to fit the pinch weld and the rocker, then mounted some shoring to it to sturdy up the rocker jacking. (see feeble rendering)

I completed this along with back seat braces, front underneath braces and the underhood braces from fender to header panel. It went from a sloppy old creaky car to something with a lot newer feel. 90% of the creaks went away except a few dash and door panel rattles. Very pleased with the outcome and worth the pain in the ass to do it.

Good looking Toby, nice welds!

Just finished up the job, it was a chore. The car now sits about 1/2 higher all around and the bumper fillers actually sit right below the bumpers and nearly sit on them, so I guess Ill take some time and make the bumper shock slotted a little more to get about 1/4" clearance versus the 1/8" clearance I have currently.

Here are some pictures of the rest of the work. Cannot wait to drive it. I put the GNX brace in last weekend and I have some new braces coming from pete this week (fender to core support and jounce) so will wait till they are installed for a good before and after feel.

Toby,
You make it look easy. #Respect

Good job, Toby - I lucked out on my frame off project. I only had to re-weld the frame mount under the AC box. Those bushings from OPGI look like really good quality. Did you install the 2 extra mounts on top of the wheel arches?

#5 yea, I sure did. I also welded the TinMan GNX brace in a couple weeks ago. I have a relationship with OPGI through Goodmark, so at my cost it was an absolute no brainer to use these versus Kirbans or others even the competitive cost of the prothane or ES. I took it for a short spin...wow, what a difference.

I forgot to mention to those that use this as reference. TAKE YOUR HEATER HOSES LOOSE. Yup, they broke off and when I started her up she spewed coolant everywhere. I think this is due to me raising the body 6/" So much for that BRAND NEW copper heater I just put in there a couple weeks back.

Good point on the heater hoses.

We need a mod move this to the "How to" section.
