Well after having my car apart for over a year changing the following; Headers, alternator swap, charge pipes, alky, flex fuel sensor, custom harness, vacuum brake swap, and mounting CNP coils on valve covers I finally got it back together... Only to find a plethora of unrelated problems. I first had a converter noise that was the stator making a whining noise, after replacing it the trans was spewing fluid which was coming from a cracked TV cable grommet, then I broke a rocker arm, then a valve cover had a crack and was leaking... After I thought I got everything fixed I take it out for a ride and after about 50 miles the car would make boost very slow and would only make maybe 15PSI (ECM set at 24#), before I could make it home the car no longer would make any boost! After pulling off the wastegate I noticed that the lever would go past closed... I pulled the pipe off and found there was no puck on the shaft, and it was nowhere to be found in the exhaust system either. All this has happened within 200 miles on the car since I got it back out, am I just a very unlucky person or has anyone else had this happen with the RJC "Large Puck"? The puck was part of the flange and puck setup I bought about 4 years ago from RJC when I built a custom DP, and it has been great until now.

I don't know if that will help much since I bought it years ago. I am thinking of just ordering a new one and calling it good. I must have just gotten the bad luck of getting the one with a weld issue? I am worried if I fix the car the rear end will fall out of it next... lol

It has a ATR pitbull system which has straight through mufflers... It must have miraculously made it out of the exhaust system because I cannot find it in there and with shaking and hitting on the exhaust there is no noise inside it... I will also agree that thank god the turbine didn't have to ingest it!

Jason should answer this situation, but I do know the entire puck assembly he is now selling is all stainless steel, and he makes them in-house. The new ones are nothing like the ones 4 years ago.

We have used many of these, and no one makes a better part as the flange is also stainless steel which is the only assembly made as good as these. :)

Nick I have been very happy with their product, I just think it is weird it took 4 years to break off? I wonder if cyclic heating and cooling did it in?

I would call and talk to Jason. He is a stand up guy and will do what is right. If he doesn't "warranty" the part he should at least know what happened. I am like you after 4years I would not expect it to be covered but would like him to know...

Well, I just got off the phone with Jason. He is a stand up guy like was explained on here. I also found out that apparently the one I got back then was not a large puck. After talking with him he will be warrantying a new one for me at no cost, even though I think it was something that just sometimes happends with wear/time. That is where the turbo buick community suppliers trump anywhere like Jegs/Summit.. I WILL be purchasing from them again in the future.

Jason is a stand up vendor, most of the support vendors are though. Usually just takes a phone call.
