You prolly could but it will crack again. Might as well get some upgrades and some braces.

I have cracked like 4 of those already even with the RJC braces, now I am running the TA hardned shafts, RJC braces and a TA stud kit , maybe one day I will get the Rollers:rolleyes:

If you are looking for a quick fix go to the junk yard and get a shaft off a car there. I'm pretty sure all the rwd 3.8s and 4.1s use the same ricker shafts. They are not turbo specific.

Be sure to deburr and break the sharp edges of the hole on the replacement shaft.

Unless your going to upgrade get some new ones and don't weld them. There will be brittle sections and will break again at the most inoportune time.

Be sure to torque the bolts to specs too...If you overtorque them, they can possibly crack right around a bolt hole in the shaft & you'll be replacing it again.....I know because I overtorqued mine a couple of times & both times I broke a shaft right around a bolt hole...I torqued the next ones right to specs & 3 years have gone by with no more problems...

The Darkside:cool:
