This weekend while at Elkhart Lake my car broke the number 4 exhaust valve spring. Did not know at the time what problem was,as all gauges and scanmaster did'nt tell me anything--except the ocasional knock I'd get from the tapping noise. I believe the knock was from the tapping anyway. Got home and removed passenger valve cover. Found spring broken. Turned engine over to see operation of valve train. Seemed o.k. other than just the broken spring. MILLION DOLLAR ? IS. Can you break a valve spring without doing major damage to anything else? This has 1:55 T&D roller rockers with a roller cam.

Hopefully I can just replace the spring and all is well with the world.

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks. :(

Yeah you should be able to replace that spring and have no problems. Just check everything real good while your there. Frank

Ya you can brake a valve spring without doing any damage. My dad was driving on the highway when out of the blue his 89 Buick Park Ave started having problems:confused: He was still able to drive the car back home. It ran good at high RPM's but didn’t idle very well, it took a while to find the problem, but after he replaced the valve spring the car runs fine, even today.:D
