I'm selling a budget Stage II combo that I purchased from Ron Tarabori:
Consists of #153 crossbolted block (on-center), 9:1 ASA pistons (4.021), 6.5" Carrillos, and 3.590 oddfire crank.
The block has had some welding done on one side, lower skirt area. Not sure why it needed this – it doesn’t appear to have had anything let loose inside (I’m sure Ron would be willing to elaborate—he’s also seen lightened drag blocks w/both skirts cut off). Anyway, it seems like a real decent job (see photos). Should not be a significant strength concern. Block has been bored/honed for the above pistons.
Speaking of pistons, they’ll need to be fitted with a set of .930 pins (not included), and the rods honed for clearance. Although these pistons are not the best for high boost levels, they should be ok for low/medium pressure. Also, an Electromotive TEC3R will run odd-fire nicely, is reasonably priced, and easy to tune (not sure about other options).
Priced to move at $2000 (plus shipping).
