Hello

I had to remove the emblem from the front grille and the retainer clips broke that hold it in place. Where could I order this or is there something else I could use?

Thank You for any help

The clip or the emblem broke?
Emblems are all over Ebay and clips can be found at most auto parts stores that do paint and body supplies.

It was the clips that broke. I will check the auto parts store tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.

May sound kida stupid or obvious but make sure you definitely have the emblem straight (the way you want it) before you snug it down or you will have little marks on the grill from were the emblem edges bite in that you won't want when you have to go and move it to the position you do want.

I would swear that my 'BUICK' emblem on the grill was loose about 20 yrs. ago and I tightened it with 2 screws that were behind it?

I checked it recently and it is molded in?! I can't get it off without cutting it! What gives? Was a switcheroo pulled when I left it at a
vendor's for a couple months?

That's odd, I wonder if someone broke/lost the nuts or broke the stems and they just epoxied it onto the grill. Was the car/grill painted recently at this vendor?

Ah, so it did have nuts on it. Now that you mention it - I did have the car painted last winter, maybe he did screw it up. The Buick emblem is not something I normally look at on the pre-flight check. ;)
I can't go out and look right now as the car is at JW Racing in Seymour, CT getting a little 'work' done to it - then it's off to Otto for a dyno tune. This will remain a mystery for a little while longer....
Thanks for the insight Rubicon 327! :)

When I first pulled the emblem off it had flat style retainer. I then went to advanced auto parts and purchased the nut type retainers and they worked great just make sure you have the emblem on straight before tightening the nuts.

No problem! Good Luck with the upgrades/"work" and tune. So Otto's back around now or is he just doing a little work here and there?

Otto is working full time at the shipyard - he'll tune a car here and there, maybe - I wish he was back, he's awesome!!! :)

Yeah, I guess that job offer was to good to turn down. So far my car is still running good after getting it back from him a few months b4 he closed up shop. Always like to keep tabs on him though in case I need him!:)
