Well, we pulled it off again despite all the smack the ford crew could talk. We were out numbered but the Buicks just wouldnt back down. Special thanks goes out to Dick Walker and the OK Buick Chapter for pulling off another great year of intense racing!!! Way to go gang.

Yep the Buicks Win Again!!!

Need to thank Dick and all the members of the Oklahoma Club who worked so hard to put on the event. GREAT JOB!!

I also need to thank Conley's Performance Plus for getting the motor rebuilt quick enough for me to go. It ran good enough to be #2 qualifier for Buicks :D

It was great weather and good to see old friends and meet new ones.

Looking forward to next year!!!

It sure was great to see the Buicks put it to the Fords.Way to go guys.

Several Fords were sandbagging as usual. The worst was the one that qualified at 13.06 and then ran a 11.18 in the finals.

John Schmidt's Opel was low qualifier at 8.08 but blew in the finals. The fastest Ford was an 8.68 in the finals.

We were a little short of fast Buicks so lost the last 15 races but the win is owed to these guys as they shoved the other 59 Buicks down the ladder where things were lots more even.

Thanks to al the Oklahoma guys for putting on this great event.

I don't think we were short of fast buicks, the starter did not give them a chance to boost up. If they had just allowed an extra 3 seconds it would of made a difference.

But us slower guys did a great job in the begining to build the lead.

I too had a great time at this event.

awesome:) , can't wait to have my car ready for next year
to all who went out and defended the gn's way to go guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The track was terrible!! I was spinning all the way thru 2nd gear ever run. The event is awesome. Its nice to meet some of the ford guys who are not so 1 sided that they cant appreciate a fast car what ever it is. I was the #6 qualifier with my GS and had another race with a 9.30 car. I drilled him out of the gates .093 to a .244 and he got twisted upo and had to lift and by mid track I was still ahead but the ole naaaaassssssss came thru for him to buzz out about 2 cars on me at the end.
He won but he had to work for it!!!;)

The event was a blast. I was getting worried toward the end though, as we had been blowing them out lol but the last 10 or so races we pretty much got it handed back to us. The sandbagging was pretty obvious on a few runs. I ran a qualifying ET on 11.49 at 117.6 against a stang that qualified with an 11.90. Well needless to say he ran a 10.90 at 123 to my 11.52 at 112. I let off after seeing a few degrees of knock (temp had changed a lot and it ran a bit lean when the TC locked) it wasn't worth blowing a head gasket on a loss. I really hope they implement a 3 tenths breakout rule or something. Oh well it was an awesome time and ill be back next year for sure.

Congrats to all the winners. It was fun as ever.

Next year, hopefully, We'll bring the 455 Nova back all sorted out. Had Zero full power runs on it when I rolled through the gate Friday night. Didn't even have time to at least rattle can it primer. LOL.

Maybe with a bigger carb, more stall and some dyno tuning I'll try to knock off one of those 9 sec. sandbaggers.

I wasn't really impressed with the track either... my best 1/8 mile out there was a 6.0... I was about 5 tenths off...

Oh... btw, congrats to the buick guys!

sure am glad someone else was having traction problems...

I was 2 tenths off my 1/8th

and only managed a 10.85 in the 1/4

I really wanted to see a mid 10.

The track has always sucked for traction during the event finals. The times I've gone, they had a good prep and you can post at least one good qualifying number, but then no one would ever bother to sweep away all the marbles and the dust that accumulates on the track.

Running drag radials like I have always done, I'm acutely aware when prep sucks. My traction goes away before slick users traction.

I was watching thru the rear veiw every run it looked like a gravel road behind my car with all the trash fling out from behind me!!!

yeah i have a video of my car launching and right when i launched and for the first 30 ft there were white pebbles flying all over the place lol (from the pit area and they get dragged around by all the sticky tires)
