Build up the motor NOW or later??

I will be picking up my 87 GN with 36 K orginal miles very soon! I am torn into pieces on if I should pull the egine as soon as I get it and put a more aggesive cam in it and get a little headwork done..... maybe even get them O ringed?? good idea or not?? Should I do that or wait and go ahead and do the other mods first such as alchy etc etc. Either way I will putting in a highflow fuel pump, fuel press reg, and getting a scan master. Would these egine mods prove to be benefitical or would other "bolt ons be more successful" This will be my daily driver so it has to be VERY dependable. I only have so much money to either get the bolt ons..... or beef up the internals a lil bit. HELP ME OUT GUYS !!!! PLEASE

NO, NO, NO....leave it alone. It will run 12s with very little effort...It will run 11s on the stock factory block and heads...

Take your time and learn the car before you start changing it. Probably save a lot of time and misery.

Get a good scan tool to back up the SM so you can trouble shoot and tune adequately.

Fuel Pump and hot wire....read the tech recipes on gnttype.org
Put your money into a K&N filter, good 2.5" exhaust, a good chip like the Thrasher, a knock alarm, boost gauge, etc. Save the big money until you learn what is what.

Leave the longblock alone. That motor has another 130,000 miles on it before it will need a rebuild. The factory head seal will only be factory once. They torqued the heads down good. Do the fuel pump, hotwire, K&N, exhaust and alky. If it falls on its face at the upper rpms you may have to put new valve springs in it. Other than that, you should be golden for a fairly good driver.

EXACTLY exactly exactly what I needed to hear!!!! Its really nice knowing that I can go ahead and add a good bit of horsepower and not have to worry about the engine being able to hold it. Any other suggestions??

First off, where are you located??? Maybe we can steer you to someone who won't tell you wrong stuff...

I'm located in Greensboro NC but oftentimes travel to the Raleigh area and also in Charlotte. There is a shop in Greensboro called Turbo Tune and heard they are pretty good, but I'll prob be going to Triad Engine because this guy that works there is the owner of a 2300 hp Grand National that he drags pretty often.... so I'm sure he can help me with a thing or two. Any good shops in the NC area that speicalizes in Turbo buicks???? Any help would be greatly appreicated!!!
