building boost

alright i cant seem to build boost off the line someone told me you should be able to build 5 pounds on the stock converter before the rear tire spins. so i put my foot to the floor set the e brake and mash try and build up boost. nothing tires dont spin just doesnt build anywhere near 2 pounds

There's no restriction to make power and thus more exhaust gas to spin the turbo in park so no boost. While foot-braking and giving it throttle, the engine can make make power and thus exhaust and thus build boost while on the brakes. I'd be checking my exhaust manifolds for leaks if you can't make 5lbs even on the stock converter. What size turbo? Too big will limit your boost level on the brakes.

was the tranny ever rebuilt? if so they probably put the wrong converter in. what rpm can you get when you brake boost it? should be around 2200+-

i bought the car with 127,000 miles im not sure if was rebuilt
