Lets's get a Buick in this thing!!!!!

Spike TV
RSS

Spike's Bullrun reality series is the ultimate test of mind and machine, pitting twelve teams of two people against each otherfor 4,000 grueling miles. Drivers are behind the wheels of their own cars, from American muscle, to exotics, to tuners. Teams must use every trick under their hoods, choose alliances carefully, and navigate down to the last turn in order to make it to daily checkpoints first or risk finding themselves in the most explosive challenges ever seen on television. There can be only one Bullrun champion.

The reality show is based on the legendary Bullrun rally, an invite-only annual event largely accessible to rich and famous car enthusiasts from around the world. It's a seven-day spectacle of luxury vehicles and hedonism, as drivers party their way through a different city every night.

1. When do we start casting for Bullrun II on Spike TV?
The answer is we have not yet begun casting, the earliest this will begin in earnest will be around June 2007.

2. What do I do to get on the Spike show?
i. Please go to Club B-Run, create a driver profile here and make sure you get everything across about you, your co-pilot your car – we need details!!! The profile allows you to write as much about yourself as possible – use it!

ii. Be sure to make sure your profile has a picture come up on the main page.

iii. We want photos any relevant photos of you and your car uploaded.

iv. Also upload video of yourself here explaining why you want to do Bullrun, who you are, why you think you can win..etc etc. We would also like to see video of you doing a walk around your car and giving us the overview.

v. Other advice? Watch the show, see what’s interesting about the guys on already and their cars, learn more about Bullrun and follow the real rally May 11th – this will help you understand what we are and what we do!

vi. We will also be checking to see who is active on the profiles, forums etc at Bullrun over the coming months and then starting a review process of all applications.

A GN would be cool, but a TTA would have a much better advantage given the added top end, fuel economy, handling, and braking.

Personally I'd like to see a WRX STi in the rally. Not only does it have enough power, handling, and braking to hang, but the decent ground clearance and AWD would give someone with enough balls to go offroad.

And what gave you the impression that all those qualities are what is needed to win? After watching season 1 I came away with the impression that you could have won that race with a Geo Metro. Nobody ran ballz to the wall. And a TTA does not get any better fuel mileage than a TR. My GN is set up to hand most sports cars thier a$$ when it comes to the open track or open road.

BTW I made the short list for season 1. I dont know why I didn't make it. Probally because I sounded to good compared to the clowns that did get picked. I've told my story in a couple of threads over at the other place. From the looks of that copy and paste its going to be real hard to make season 2. They aint looking for speed and talent. They are looking for entertainment. They might as well call it the BullRun Lotto.

I can tell you one thing. You're going to need lots of money if you do get picked. Look at how many guys broke(Nissan and Lambo). They were looking for teams that could fix thier cars with in 12 hours if they did break something. Prep your car to make it last. And plan on some traveling money. It aint cheap to drive from one coast to the other and than back, especially if you lose.

Obviously there was alot of luck involved in winning Bullrun, but personally I'd like to have a car that can easily take the win in challenges and also get the best fuel economy possible. I know a g body can be made to handle as good as most sportscars, but I have a hard time believing that a TTA does not get better fuel economy given the 3:23 gear ratio and aerodynamics. Then again I don't own a TTA, so I don't know for sure.

Maybe that guy with the Duramax powered GNX clone should enter.
He has a great suspension setup and is claiming 30+mpg on the freeway.

I was thinking if someone from the two buick boards actually made the cut that we could pitch in as a community, $5 here, $5 there. Help them put together an emergency kit for the run: coilpack, belts, plugs, maf and so on. Possibly a vender would jump on board and help the contestant out. We need to show the world the "Dark Side".

Hopefully season 2 they get a decent Mustang, and possibly a Vette. That Mustang in season 1 really disappointed, and made Mustang look bad.
