Guys,

I have the 12" 1LE brakes on my GN w the tall "B" body (big Chevy) spindles. The Upper A's were changed to the Hotchkis units. This was the only way U could do it years ago. Handles and brakes way better than stock and fairly cheap to install.

However, it does have "bump steer" due to the B spindle hanging lower and moving the outer tie rod downward. I've been searching for a solution to this for years as it is a PITA and potentially dangerous.

Does anyone know of any solutions ? I've heard that there is a guy named Mark at SC&C (?) on the East Coast that has some solution using a C5 Corvette spindle and brakes. However, I haven't been able to locate an E-Mail address for them. Then another buddy said that he thought he had heard that there were aftermarket Lower A frames that might solve the problem, but he didn't know who made it.

Anybody got any clues ?

I was in the same boat as you, I did the B swap on my Cutlass and my dad's GN. Strangely enough, the bump steer isn't too bad in the GN, but horrible in the Cutlass. Probably due to different spring rates and such. Anyway, on the GN I'm currently swapping it back to a stock spindle with the LS1 disks. To try to keep some of the suspension improvements I picked up SC&C's adjustable upper arms along with the tall ball joints. I've been told the bump steer with this is better than stock, but thats just what I've heard.

If you want to keep the b spindles I think I remember Mark saying that they did some testing and the tall LBJ decreases the bumpsteer with the b spindles. Just give him a call, he knows what he's doing and will get you the info you need.
