hi, i have an opportunity to buy a poston PS header and crossover. How fast can you go on stock hotair headers? Do you think i should upgrade to the poston stuff? Do you think i should buy a poston DS header too? I am using the ATR uppipe, will that fit with the poston header? Any input on the poston crossover?
sorry for all of the questions but i need input please
thanks!

I just did mine. The pass header is a big improvement. The driver header is the same as the 86-87 and those are good for 10s. Cross over will help sice it will be bigger, and will help the headers from cracking somewhat if it is the slip joint with band clamp. Up pipe should be ok. Make sure you check the header for cracks at the welds.

Stock hotair headers are total junk. I saw a pair cut open, and the flow from those cannot be good, if at best marginal. Plus they are very prone to cracking and leaking. My stock pair when I took them off had about 5 small cracks on each of them.

You can work the stock headers though to get them to flow, I know Lee Thompson has, but it is a lot of work and requires a good welder and fabricator, which Lee is.

For the normal Joe, Poston headers are the ticket, especially if you can find a pair used.
