Most likely I'm going with a regular HKS unit. It worked great on my dad's fully built stockblock car and held 27psi no problem. I don't care about the sound it makes, I pefer quiet. One I won't even consider is the HKS SSQ valve. On my dad's stageII car, I cringe everytime he lets off the gas. It makes a horrible screech. Any suggestions? Something that will work with the TRs and not cost an arm and a leg? Remember this is a hotair setup, I have an extra 5' of 3" piping over you guys.

Boardmember TAFFY can hook you up with several (most any)
brands, at excellent prices.

A nice, easily/quickly adjusted twin chamber unit, especially nice for the bucks, is the APEXi...which he does carry also!

The HKS units are great, as you know. Many are buying the newest Blitz because of its shape & size. Both brands are upper-end of the BOV price range.

HTH :)

I've got a mint ATR BOV/up-pipe with BOV flange welded on that I'm looking to sell. The ATR BOV is the only BOV that has been designed for our cars. I also have a length of aluminum 3" pipe with the BOV flange welded onto it if you wanted to make a custom setup. Shoot me an email and we can talk.

here is a tip: save your money and buy something else......preferably something that will actually increase your performance.

Get the Blitz Super Sound BOV. Most of these guys that slam the BOV's have never owned another turbo car above and beyond the turbo regals.

I was fortunate enough to live in Japan and owned turbo cars there, Japan is the land of turbos...they put a turbo on every freakin car there. The Suzuki Samurai(jimny over there) is even turbocharged from the factory.
Long story short, all the cars have BOV's from the factory automatic and manual trans. Why do you think they put them on not for sound because the outlet off the valve recirculates back into the intake tube, they are there to protect the turbo bearings, comp wheel.

I just got an offer for a slightly used APEX BOV for $100. Supposedly it's not that loud and will work with the volume of air I'm pushing. Anyone know anything about these? The guy is reinstalling it on his car so I can make sure it works.

Reliability, that's all I'm after. Right now I'm making pretty good money and living at home with no bills to pay. I'm making my car exactly how I want it and spending as much as I want because in a year or so I'll be married and have a house payment. I feel like it's Christmas, I'm getting something big for the car every week, it's making up for the 4 years I went with no money to spend on the car.

BOVs

The APEXi twin chamber BOV is a good one. I personally do not like the way it looks.
The HKS SSQV is also a very good BOV with a unique sound. It can be set up as a recirc valve, but you need to buy more parts to set it up for recirc.
The Greddy Type-R (Type-S is too small for the 3.8 liter) is another good unit that I personally like. It is also designed to be used as a recirc valve.
The Blitz Dual Drive is also very good. It can also be set up as a recirc valve.
There are also the BOVs from ATI (Procharger), but I have no experience with that unit. It is supposed to be a great unit.

I can get BOVs from APEXi, HKS, Greddy and Blitz for the folks that want one. Kits (BOV and mount) are $200-$250.
