Buzzer/Chime location in the Regals

Can anyone tell me where the buzzer for the key warning switch is? I'd like to replace this with a chime module as the buzzer drives me crazy. Is it true that this chime module also warns when the headlights are left on? I have the shop manual here but it doesn't show the location. The chime module is $100 new, but I'm going to a junkyard next week and looking for one...am I correct to assume that one from a '93 to '99 Buick Lesabre will fit in the '87 Buick Regal? I was at the junkyard last week but could not find the location on the Lesabres either. Anyone know?

Under the dash

It's located directly under the dash on the right side of the steering wheel. It's sort of a pain to get out. You may have to drop the fuse panel cover and the gray center air duct thing to get to it. Hope this helped.:smile:

 

[Just a Six??]

Thats the area. Reach up & there is a black box the size of a pack of smokes. If you pull the front seat out its a lot easier to get at if your a big guy. I'm not so I just moved the seat back & had my feet on the headrest upside down but you get a major Head Rush!!
