Can I bypass the hard lines that cycle water through the heater core with just heater hose? The lines now sit right on the top edge of the valve cover , and have to be removed just to remove the PS valve cover. Also, what size is the fitting that is screwed directly into the intake for the metal water line fitting? I would like to get a barbed fitting on the intake for the new hose.

Subscribed. I have yet to use my heater and those metal lines are a PITA to work around.

Yes you can remove them, and I'd just pull the fitting and take it with you to a speed shop that specializes in those fittings.

I removed them and used an AN fitting for the cooling port on the turbo

I did away with the hard lines a few years back. Much easier to work on that side of the engine when needed
