I have read previous posts, but I still have some questions.

1979 3.8 Turbo motor

First, with the Spark Control box hooked up, the motor starts and runs fine.

When I try jumping the plug from the distributor (connects to the spark control box), it doesn't run at all. I'm jumping (I think) #2 and #4 wires, per a previous thread.

My real question is, how do I know exactly which pin is which? It is not clearly marked. Is one a "male" and the other a "female"?

I must be hooking up the wrong wires since it does run with the spark control.

Thank you! :)

PS The reason I'm asking is that this motor now sits in my Jeep, and I have yet to figure out how to wire up the spark box. In the mean time, I would like to get it running.
