I just need to know if there is supposed to be a tight wound spring spacer in the 2-3 shift valve. The spring spacer is in the middle of the 2-3 shift and the 2-3throttle valve. The trans is an 84 bq

I'll try to answer

There should be 1 and only 1 spring in the 2-3 stack up. It goes on the stem of the 2-3 T.V. valve. In a BRF and I believe the BQ will be the same. It should be (if not changed) orange in color.
.232 dia.
.032 wire dia.
1.064 in length
with 17 coils.
Best of luck.

so the spring spacer is susposed to be in there along with a orange spring

"Update" Went ahead and removed that spring spacer in the 2-3 shift valve.removed vb and all that.Put everything back together and bingo 2-3 shift. Iwould like to kick the person that stuck that spring spacer in there what was the point of it.I put the transgo shift kit in there but the spring spacer that particular kit recomends went in the 1-2 shift valve. Why would someone put that in there:confused: .Man i been thru alot becouse of it.Thanks to all for helping me out on this issue, thank god it is fixed now and i can finally move on the other projects like this 84 hot air that will not start thanks again.
